A better day! 02-25-10

I think the title says it all, really.  Cooper has had a much better day today and for that, we are all feeling very blessed!  He slept in until about 1:30 (his mom slept until noon!) and he was off and running once he was awake.  Well, more like walking, but at least he is upright and not just laying down all of the time today!  He isn't back to 100%, but he is so much better that we'll take it!  The poor thing keeps getting hiccups and about 75% of the time, they cause him to hurl.  But even the barf was a bit less today (and for that, we are also blessed!).  I think if we can clear up Cooper's cough and boogies that are causing a lot of extra gunky drainage, the extra barfing will get much better.  Tomorrow we will go in and see Dr. Bhakta for another check of his ears.  Hopefully those will show a lot of improvement and we can rest easier knowing that this bug will soon pass and life, as we know it, can get back to normal.  Saying the word "normal" when describing our family makes me snort just a little bit.  We are used to it, but I suppose normal may not be the right word to use.  I am afraid that my sister Liz is going to be a bit freaked out by our normal when she comes to town on Sunday with her baby girls.  For the past 3 years, everytime Liz has come to visit, we have been in the hospital with Cooper.  We are all looking forward to a real visit with her and her kiddos!  In fact, I am giddy with anticipation!  The last time she was here with her daughter Eliana, we were able to spring Cooper from the hospital on a 4 hour pass so we could take him to see Elmo Live with his cousin.  It was so fun, but I know they would have had a ball getting to really play together.  And I cannot wait to hold and snuggle Eliana's new baby sister Garbrielle!  Please please pray that Cooper continues to get better and better so we can all enjoy a wonderful week with family in town!

And please remember to pass the word on to any Aggies you may know who are going to the basketball game this Saturday to be on the look out for Coins for Cooper!  We cannot wait for this event in Aggieland again!  The Corps of Cadets, the Commandant, and the President of A&M have all been amazingly kind in helping to get this going for Cooper.  We know that it will be something very special on Saturday!
