Tomorrow is the big day! 03-04-10
I don't know if I will get any sleep at all tonight. Tomorrow is the day that we will finally meet Dr. Koenig and get her take on Cooper and his overall health situation. Dr. V and Mel have been working tirelessly to get records and information together for us to take to Dr. Koenig so that she will have as much to go off of as possible. TCH has been very slow to get the records to Dr. K's nurse, so we faxed over everything we could get our hands on and Dr. V included some reports in his letter to her as well. Hopefully we have enough to start with. First thing in the morning, we are going to TCH to pick up some disks with all of Cooper's MRIs and other imaging studies on them so that we can give those to Dr. K as well. We are nervous about this appointment - well, nervous and relieved to finally get in to see this doctor who has helped so many kids with similar situations to Cooper's. But I think nervous is the predominant feeling. And I don't know why. This appointment could be the catalyst to finally figuring out what exactly has caused all of Cooper's health problems. But at the same time, it is scary to know that we might finally know. Yes - VERY mixed emotions on this one. We have worked for so long to get to the bottom of everything and we have certainly gained a lot of knowledge along the way, but none of it has given us the whole explaination that we want and need for Cooper. But having a name or cause for what Cooper has going on will probably change a lot of things as well. I guess it is fear of the unknown (and the little bit of scary stuff that we do know!). Please pray that Cooper's appointment goes well tomorrow. He has been doing really well this week with therapy and energy and we are loving seeing him feeling good again. His bladder has been a problem, but thankfully, he only complains and doubles over (and can't move or walk) when he is peeing (and it is not a bladder infection!) and a few minutes later, the cramping and pain subside and he is okay again. He is one very tough little boy! Please pray for this appointment, Cooper's continued health, and for HIS CALL to come NOW (well, after tomorrow's appointment!). And please remember to spread the word about the fundraiser on March 11 at the Willowbrook Chuck E Cheese that is benefiting Cooper's COTA fund! It is from 3-8pm and 15% of all sales (food, tokens, and products sold at the registers, not the token machines!) will be donated back to Cooper's account. We'll also be there selling shirts and bracelets, as always! Thank you for your continued support and prayers for Cooper!
